Two more NATO soldiers killed in Afghanistan

KABUL (AFP) – Two more NATO soldiers were killed in Afghanistan on Tuesday, the military said, a day after international forces lost 10 soldiers in a string of attacks.

The soldiers died in an improvised bomb attack in southern Afghanistan, NATO's International Security Assistance Force said, without giving any further details.

On Monday seven US, one French and two Australian soldiers were killed in various attacks, making it the deadliest day in combat for NATO forces since 11 French troopers lost their lives in August 2008.

According to an AFP tally, based on a count kept by the independent website icasualties.org, 247 foreign troops have been killed in Afghanistan so far this year. Last year was the deadliest yet, with 520 killed.
