Somali, AU troops expand in Mogadishu after Al shabaab withdrawal

MOGADISHU (Sh. M. Network) – The transitional federal government forces and AU troops started to expand themselves in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia after have fled the seaside city.

The areas Somali forces and AMISOM troops reached include Stadium Mogadishu, Wadnaha road, Sodonka road and many neighborhoods in the capital.

The expansionism measures were gradually made by the government forces against aback drop that Al shabaab had previously planted bombs before they fled Mogadishu.

On Saturday, the spokesman of Al shabaab, Sheikh Ali Mohamoud Rage admitted that the group has completely abandoned Benadir region for military tactics.
