MOGADISHU (RBC) Al-Shabab spokesman Sheikh Ali Mahamud Rage (Ali Dhere) blamed today both Ethiopia and Kenya directly involve in southern Somalia fighting, RBC Radio reports. “You know fresh offensive were launched into Gedo region in our country. Ethiopia and Kenya are directly involving the fighting, their forces crossed the border and fighting inside,” Sheikh Ali Dhere said today addressing in Mogadishu mosque.
Ali Dhere promised that Al-Shabab will continue to defend the country from Ethiopia and Kenya calling the Somali people to join what he described anti-foreigners resistance led by Al-Shabab movement.
Al-Shabab spokesman also warned the transitional government of Somalia and allied Ahlu suna militia to stand side with Ethiopian and Kenyan forces otherwise will result heavy damage on them.
Somalia government forces with the backing of Ahlu suna group re-seized many strategic towns from Al-Shabab in renewed battle in Gedo, Somalia southern region in the past weeks. But Al-Shabab blames the neighbouring Ethiopia and Kenya are the major backers of the government.
