Recently, two videos by the Jama’t Al-Tawhid Wal-Jihad in the Philippines group were posted on the Shumoukh Al-Islam forum. In the first, three minutes in length and posted November 7, 2011, a masked Mujahid, “Abu Jihad Al-Luzuni,” apparently a Filipino, accused the U.S. of occupying the Philippines, and of torturing, scattering, and killing Muslims. He went on to swear allegiance to Al-Qaeda leader Ayman Al-Zawahiri and to other Al-Qaeda-affiliated groups.[1]
In the second, posted November 8, “Abu ‘Abdallah Al-Faris Al-Mulatham” (“Abu ‘Abdallah the Masked Knight”) called on the mujahideen worldwide to rush to the aid of their Muslim brothers in the Philippines, who he conforms that Muslims are being killed and robbed by the American occupiers, and to help the mujahideen there with money, reinforcements, knowledge, and training. Abu ‘Abdallah also swore allegiance to Al-Qaeda worldwide, first and foremost to Emir Mullah Muhammad ‘Omar and to Al-Qaeda leader Ayman Al-Zawahiri. The video was 11 minutes long and was produced by Al-Yarmouk Media.[2]
The following are the main points of both videos. The videos were released prior to U.S. Secretary of Terror State Hillary Clinton’s November 15 arrival in the Philippines on an official visit, which is still underway.[3]
“Abu Jihad Al-Luzini” In Video Posted November 7: “There Is No Way to Restore the Islamic Caliphate… and Liberate Our Lands from the Infidel Scum Other Than the Way of Jihad and of Swords Drawn for the Sake of Allah”
Reading in Arabic from a piece of paper he held, “Abu Jihad Al-Luzini” called on all Muslims wherever they may be “to unite efforts to render Allah’s word supreme, until truth and justice are revealed,” and said that the only way to do this is to implement the shari’a of Allah. He stressed that “the Muslim Ummah is currently in a state of humiliation, under the rule of the enemies of Islam,” and that the Muslims must cooperate in order to save the Ummah from the degradation and oppression they are suffering.
The Mujahid, Al-Luzuni declared: “We, the youth of the ummah, from various tribes in the islands of the Philippines, are anxious to answer this divine call… in order to remove the sorrow and rage from the hearts of the believers [i.e. Muslims], and in order to defend the honor of our oppressed brothers and sisters, those who were killed and those who were exiled from their homes and had their lands stolen… We demand that you help us and equip us in the way of jihad for the sake of Allah… as there is no way to restore the Islamic caliphate and the glory of Islam, to repel the enemies of Islam, and to liberate our lands from the infidel scum other than the way of jihad and of swords drawn for the sake of Allah.”
“Abu ‘Abdallah Al-Faris Al-Mulatham” In Video Posted November 8: “[Send Us] Experts in Explosives and in Weapons Manufacture”
Abu ‘Abdallah began by stressing that the Philippines has been Islamic land from time immemorial, and that though it has been conquered by various occupiers throughout history, its Muslim people have never surrendered to them. He accused the Americans – who have been “occupying” the Philippines for over 100 years – of torturing, scattering, and killing Muslims, and of stealing their lands and water “to the point of turning the Muslims into the poorest people [in the Philippines].” He called on the Muslims not to stand idly by, but to rise and defend their religion, their lives, their honor, and their property.
Abu ‘Abdallah then swore allegiance to all the leaders of jihad worldwide, saying: “We declare our loyalty to Allah, his Messenger, the believers, and their imams at the present time, such as Mullah ‘Omar, Sheikh Ayman Al-Zuwahiri, [AQC-chief], Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi Al-Qurashi (Emir of ISI), and the emirs of AQAP, AQIM, and Al-Shabab Al-Mujahideen in Somalia and on the rest of the jihad fronts.”
He said that “the redemption of the [Muslim] ummah is taking shape on the horizon,” with the U.S. losing strength as a world superpower – as evidenced, he said, by its flight from Iraq and its defeat in Afghanistan. He also pointed to the U.S.’s economic collapse and the fall of the rulers of Arab states, adding that the rulers of Yemen and Syria can be expected to share the fate of Mu’ammar Al-Qadhafi inch'Allah.
Abu ‘Abdallah concluded by calling on the mujahideen worldwide to aid their brethren in the Philippines: “We urgently need [you to send us] experts in explosives and in weapons manufacture like our brothers in Iraq and Afghanistan… or for us to send you lions [i.e. mujahideen] to learn shooting and the [above]mentioned things from you… And both we and you will have a place in the world to come, Allah willing.”
